This is a JOYOUS season to take a step back from our busy lives and enjoy time with our loved ones.
Meno Dive Club would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. May this Christmas end the present year on a cheerful note and make way for a brighter New Year.
“From home to home, and heart to heart, from one place to another. The warmth and joy of Christmas, brings us closer to each other” – Emily Matthews
Oxybenzone & Octinoxate. These are two chemical compounds in most sunscreen products available in stores that may be harmful to corals. As the health of our coral reefs are deteriorating due to many contributing factors, let’s not add the stress to them.
Some of the compounds are masked as Benzophenone-3 (BP-3), Butylparaben, Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, and 4-methylbenzylidene camphor (4MBC). These chemicals can disrupt coral reproduction, cause coral bleaching and damage coral DNA.
We can start to give more awareness to the sensitivity of our reefs, do our part by covering up in the sun and use sunscreen that does not harm our ocean.
Everyday is an ocean day for us, but today is World Ocean Day. It’s a day to remind us to get involved in to help save the ocean and our planet earth. How? Reduce the use of plastics.
Thanks for joining me!
